La creación de un centro geriátrico - gerontológico en la ciudad de Quevedo, como contribución a las políticas del Buen Vivir de los adultos mayores.

Abstract

The main objective of this research was to develop a proposal for the creation of a geriatric center through an analysis of the basic needs of the elderly in order to improve their quality of life in the city of Quevedo. As a consequence of aging, older adults tend to suffer from both mental and physical illnesses that impair their quality of life and in certain cases suffer from abuse as a burden within the family, however these people may be active members of society Contributing with their knowledge and vitality so it is necessary to create centers dedicated to the integral and specialized attention of these priority members of the population where their health, their happiness and their integration to society are prioritized. The study found through market research that 82% have an older adult in their homes and 64% of respondents who have not contracted services from a Gerontology Center mentioned that they have thought of requiring these services. On the other hand, strengths and opportunities mitigate market risk. The feasibility study yielded an IRR of 66.40% being very attractive economically speaking and the return will be the initial investment will be obtained in the first year. Finally it is concluded that the project must be applied due to the existing need, contributing with the social field and on the other hand is profitable over time.
