Abstract

The past 16 April 2016, Ecuador was affected by an earthquake of 7.8º in the Richter scale that left among others, damage to infrastructure within several of the cities that were mainly near the epicenter. The city of Bahía de Caráquez belonging to the Canton Sucre in the Manabí province was one of the hardest hit on issues of social infrastructure, cultural and community integration, which is why it is appropriate to the implementation of this Preliminary Draft Theater - Library, replacing the previous Municipal Theater Sucre which received damage so strong that prevented its reconstruction. The preliminary draft seeks to create a connection between users and the relationship of activities by inviting them to be part of the project, generating a passage where they develop flexible spaces and multi-purpose; that is to say that develop cultural activities and complementary activities in order to become a space representative of the city.
