La efectividad del cumplimiento de las sentencias emitidas por la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos contra el Ecuador.

Abstract

In the present work, an investigation will be conducted on the behavior of the Ecuadorian State regarding the pronouncements of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, specifically in its contentious jurisdiction. It is true that our country, Ecuador, is part of the Organization of American States and is a subscriber of the Inter-American Convention on Human Rights, therefore it is governed by the Commission and by the Court and has ratified the contentious jurisdiction of the latter. We will analyze the effectiveness of the judgments handed down against the Ecuadorian State, what is the role that the Inter-American Court of Human Rights has to be able to make the sentences it dictates are fulfilled and not only remain written on paper, finally we will conclude by stating our opinion regarding to the Inter-American Court and its effectiveness.
