| dc.description | Objetivo: evaluar y determinar la frecuencia de efectos y repercusiones de las prótesis parciales removibles en el periodonto de los dientes pilares. Materiales y métodos: En este estudio Descriptivo observacional transversal y analítico se evaluaron clínicamente los tejidos periodontales de los dientes pilares de pacientes portadores de PPR que hayan sido atendidos la clínica odontológica de la Universidad católica de Santiago de Guayaquil. Resultados: Se examinaron 43 pacientes portadores de PPR encontrando prevalencia en las mujeres con un 67.44% Y en los hombres con el 32.56%. En el análisis se encontró mayor frecuencia de acúmulo de placa (45.45%), inflamación gingival leve (45.45%), ausencia de bolsas periodontales (56.25%), ausencia de movilidad dental (52.84%) y recesiones gingivales (58.52%). Conclusiones: El uso de las PPR afecta al tejido periodontal de los dientes pilares a largo plazo, por lo que se deberían realizar mantenimientos protésicos periódicos. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Aim: to evaluate and determine the frequency of effects and repercussions of removable partial dentures in the periodontium of the abutment teeth. Materials and methods: In this cross-sectional and analytical observational descriptive study, the periodontal tissues of the abutment teeth of patients with RPD who have been treated at the dental clinic of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil were clinically evaluated. Results: 43 patients with RPD were evaluated, with women having more prevalence (67.44%) than men (32.56%). The final analysis found a greater frequency of plaque accumulation (45.45%), mild gingival inflammation (45.45%), absence of periodontal pockets (56.25%), absence of dental mobility (52.84%) and gingival recessions (58.52%). Conclusions: RPD affects the periodontal tissues of the abutment teeth in a long term usage, so it is convenient to perform prosthetic maintenance periodically. | en_US |
