| dc.description | La nueva enfermedad por coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) ha afectado fuertemente en el mundo, los odontólogos son algunos de los profesionales de la salud con más riesgo de contagio, por lo que los futuros odontólogos deben estar informados para así poder prevenir este virus. Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de conocimiento acerca de la COVID-19 entre los alumnos de la carrera de Odontología UCSG-2020. Materiales y métodos: Estudio descriptivo-transversal que consistió en distribuir una encuesta dividida en 6 secciones con preguntas de conocimiento a 228 estudiantes de los cuales participaron N=182, se asignó un puntaje para medir el nivel de conocimiento y por último se comparó la puntuación total entre los diferentes ciclos de participantes, las respuestas fueron tabuladas en Excel y posteriormente se realizaron las gráficas, tablas y pruebas estadísticas con un nivel de confianza del 95% en el programa SPSS versión 25. Resultados: Se demostró que de los 182 estudiantes 27 (14,8%) obtuvieron un puntaje igual o mayor a 7/10 y el nivel de conocimiento fue independiente del semestre en el que se encontraban los encuestados. Conclusión: Los alumnos poseen un bajo nivel de conocimiento general en cuanto a la COVID-19. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | The new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has strongly affected the world, dentists are some of the health professionals with the highest risk of contagion, for that reason future dentists must be informed in order to prevent this virus. Objective: To determine the level of knowledge about COVID-19 among the students of the UCSG-2020 Dentistry career. Materials and methods: Descriptive-cross-sectional study that consisted of distributing a survey divided into 6 sections with knowledge questions to 228 students of which N = 182 participated. A score was assigned to measure the level of knowledge and finally the total score was compared between the different cycles of participants, the answers were tabulated in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and later the graphs, tables and statistical tests were performed with a confidence level of 95% in the SPSS program version 25 . Results: It was shown that of the 182 students, 27 (14.8%) of them obtained a score equal to or greater than 7/10 and the level of knowledge was independent of the semester they were currently studying. Conclusion: Students had a low level of general knowledge regarding COVID-19. | en_US |
