Abstract

This document contains the architectural proposal for a Reception Centre for Pensioners in the city of Machala. The need for the creation of this Center arises from the high number of retirees looking for a space where they can develop their activities permanently and comfortably. It aims to provide spaces that promote leisure activities and help improve the quality of life of retirees taking into account the promotion of active and healthy aging. The project takes advantage of the site and the existing vegetation, it contemplates in the design spaces that mimic the dynamics maintained by retirees in the public parks of the city where they are concentrated. Greater importance is given to outdoor space, meeting points and social participation. The project aims that the built part and the exterior space dialogue and generate pleasant environments that satisfy and create stimuli in the user. The distribution of the blocks along the lot allows that there are courtyards between them that enhance the internal-external relationship, as well as flexible spaces that allow to perform various activities and maintain a visual towards what happens around. As a result, a proposal is obtained that seeks to involve the community, all the activities of the program converge in a large central courtyard as a communal nucleus. The Reception Centre will provide spaces for occupation, recreation, training and health care.
