Centro Gerontológico Hogar-Jardín San Eduardo.

Abstract

The present work of qualification prior to obtaining the title of Architect aims to fulfill the social work that the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil must impart as a formative entity in benefit of the community through the Faculty of Architecture and Design, in accordance with the Urban Consulting Office and as a contribution to the Architectural Linking and Intervention Projects in the Cerro San Eduardo Sector in the city of Guayaquil; I have proposed the Theme "CENTRO GERONTOLOGICO HOGAR-JARDIN SAN EDUARDO". The development and research that I have done on the subject has allowed me to know the relevance and the humanistic importance; making awareness of the need to act positively, applying the acquired knowledge, the proposal is for a Gerontological Centre to guarantee the provision of comprehensive care services for older adults with quality standards, as well as identify, create and evaluate an architectural solution that provides adequate care for this sector of the population. The socioeconomic transformations of the residents settled in the cooperatives in Cerro San Eduardo, due to the lack of employment or underemployment are precarious, so they have a défcit in the habitable space, as well as the absence of adequate recreational areas that provide the elderly and/or elderly with a place of healthy recreation. As well as the lack of adequate accessibility to comprehensive care and health services. Being our intention to use these defciences to give the elderly a positive aging, a dignified and healthy life, to recover this public space ACM., through our proposal, that will allow within this community environment to meet their biological, psychosocial and cultural needs.
