Composición de un tema inédito para guitarra y voz en género bossa nova utilizando los recursos musicales de los temas "Águas de Março" y "Brigas nunca mais" de Antonio Jobim.

Abstract

This study aims to create an original composition for guitar and voice, inspired by the musical resources found in the songs “Águas de março” and “Brigas nunca mais” by Antonio Carlos Jobim. The research focuses on analyzing and applying melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic elements from these compositions in order to incorporate them into a new composition within the bossa nova style. The research approach is qualitative, centered on exploring the compositional resources typical of bossa nova, with a descriptive scope that seeks to identify and apply these resources in the creation of an original work. The methodology involves a detailed analysis of the musical resources of the referenced songs, their transcription, and the implementation of these elements into the new composition. Tools such as musical transcription, document analysis, and score analysis were employed. As a result, the piece “Sombras de luz” was developed, utilizing the genre’s resources, such as syncopation, extended chords, specific chord progressions, and chord substitutions, addressing the duality between the negative and positive aspects of Guayaquil. This study confirms that it is possible to take Jobim’s stylistic elements and adapt them in an innovative way, preserving the essence of bossa nova while creating a fresh and original proposal.
