La situación jurídica de los refugiados y migrantes en Ecuador.

Abstract

The present study examines the current situation of immigrants in Ecuador and highlights the need for a comprehensive approach that not only meets their immediate interests but also addresses the underlying factors driving migration. Literature review made evident the importance of policy reforms in terms of migration law, to streamline bureaucratic procedures and reduce associated costs. The research also emphasises the importance of adopting international best practices to the Ecuadorian context to optimize integration within the immigrant community. Chapter 1 examines the legal framework and conceptual foundations, Chapter 2 explores the challenges faced by refugees and immigrants in Ecuador, and in Chapter 3, the study presents a proposal for legal and social improvements for immigrants. Finally, the study highlights that acknowledging the role of immigrants in the economic, social, and cultural development of the country can foster a more inclusive and equitable society. Implementing these measures will promote social cohesion and maximize the value that immigrants contribute to our country.
