Situaciones de bullying escolar en una unidad educativa del cantón Latacunga, en el periodo lectivo 2023 - 2024.

Abstract

The objective of this research work was to analyze bullying practices and possible coping strategies in the educational unit of the Latacunga canton in the period 2023 - 2024. The methodological design used was mixed, using two instruments to collect information, surveys. quantifiable for students; and, the focus group, qualifying for teachers and staff of the institutional DECE, in order to learn about the types and causes of bullying among student peers; and, the possible strategies that could be applied to reduce this problem. Among the results obtained, it was possible to identify the types of bullying that occur most frequently in the educational unit, the places where this problem occurs, the immediate actions carried out by students and authorities, the causes that give rise to these problems, and the possible solutions from the point of view of students and educational authorities. As a result of the research, it is concluded that it is necessary to adopt two strategies to minimize bullying, the implementation of workshops and training on bullying; and, improve controls by the authorities towards the students of the educational unit of this canton, including implementation of video surveillance cameras and panic buttons.
