Abstract

This study examines the care provided to people with physical disabilities between 18 and 40 years of age in La Esperanza Parish during the first half of 2024, using a qualitative descriptive-analytical methodology with a hermeneutic approach, based on semi-structured interviews with ten participants. The specific objectives were to identify the most common types of disabilities, explore the accessibility of medical services, rehabilitation and psychological support, and collect suggestions to improve care. The results showed major limitations in mobility, infrastructure and services, evidencing barriers that affect the social inclusion and quality of life of these people. The main conclusions underline the urgent need for public policies that improve accessibility and specialized services. Recommendations include creating an interdisciplinary approach, investigating economic and emotional barriers, evaluating inclusion policies and designing interventions that foster true social integration, recognizing that disability is not only a physical issue, but a social challenge that demands structural and cultural changes to achieve fair inclusion.
