| dc.description | El proyecto busca rehabilitar, conservar y resaltar la riqueza ecológica del humedal Velasco Ibarra. Este ecosistema tiene un gran valor patrimonial, por su creación como un humedal léntico artificial (albarrada), y ecológico, por ser un recurso natural que alberga una biodiversidad de flora y fauna del bosque seco tropical propio de la costa. Está ubicado a un kilómetro del borde costero, en la parroquia rural José Luis Tamayo de Salinas, Ecuador. El humedal y el territorio que lo rodea enfrenta procesos de degradación producto de asentamientos informales, crecimiento agrícola y sembríos que lo contaminan. De continuar esto, se perdería un recurso ambiental muy importante que debe ser protegido. Es así, que se busca dar a conocer su valor ecológico, que no ha sido visualizado ni aprovechado, y de exponer su potencial turístico entre los habitantes y visitantes del cantón. Este proyecto propone el diseño de un centro de interpretación, que promueva su rehabilitación, conservación y puesta en valor a través de la educación y sensibilización ambiental. Además, sirve como portal de acceso a la experiencia del humedal, creando un recorrido secuencial que invita al descubrimiento del ecosistema, mediante espacios interiores y exteriores. La propuesta arquitectónica se adapta respetuosamente al terreno natural, lo que proporciona una vista panorámica y sin obstáculos hacia el paisaje, potenciando la experiencia paisajística, contemplativa y educativa del visitante. De esta forma, el humedal, se convierte en un espacio de valor ecológico, educativo y ecoturístico, fortaleciendo la relación entre la comunidad urbana y su patrimonio natural, contribuyendo a su conservación activa y al desarrollo turístico sostenible. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | The project aims to rehabilitate, conserve, and enhance the ecological richness of the Velasco Ibarra Wetland. This ecosystem has great heritage value, due to its creation as an artificial lentic wetland (albarrada), and ecological value, as a natural resource that hosts a biodiversity of flora and fauna from the tropical dry forest native to the coast. It is located one kilometer from the coastline, in the rural parish of José Luis Tamayo de Salinas, Ecuador. The wetland and its surrounding area are facing degradation due to informal settlements, agricultural growth, and polluting crops. If this continues, a very important environmental resource that must be protected would be lost. Thus, the project seeks to raise awareness of its ecological value, which has not been visualized or utilized, and to showcase its tourism potential to the residents and visitors of the canton. This project proposes the design of an interpretation center to promote its rehabilitation, conservation, and enhancement through environmental education and awareness. Furthermore, it serves as a gateway to the wetland experience, creating a sequential path that invites discovery of the ecosystem through indoor and outdoor spaces. The architectural proposal respectfully adapts to the natural terrain, providing an unobstructed panoramic view of the landscape, enhancing the visitor's scenic, contemplative, and educational experience. In this way, the wetland becomes a space of ecological, educational, and ecotourism value, strengthening the relationship between the urban community and its natural heritage, contributing to its active conservation and sustainable tourism development. | en_US |
