| Resumen : | INTRODUCTION: Heart failure is one of the most frequent and morbimortal diseases. It is the leading cause of cardiovascular death in Ecuador according to the National Institute of Statistics and Census. Heart failure causes death in 4 -10% of all men and 8-18% of all women. OBJECTIVE: To determine the risk factors that affect quality of life in patients with heart failure at the Guayaquil Specialties Hospital Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón year 2016. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A cross-sectional observational study of patients treated at the Guayaquil Hospital of Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón and diagnosed with heart failure between January and December of 2016. RESULTS: The sociodemographic variables related to the global dimension of the Minnesota Living Questionnaire determined by chi square obtained statistically significant values in the functional class variables of dyspnea and hospital stay. CONCLUSIONS: In Ecuador, the use of the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire test was validated because a reliability analysis value of 0.91 was obtained, being a test to correctly assess the quality of life of patients with heart failure. |
| Descripción : | INTRODUCCIÓN: La insuficiencia cardiaca es una de las enfermedades más frecuentes y con mayor morbimortalidad. Es la primera causa de muerte cardiovascular en el Ecuador según el instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censo. La insuficiencia cardiaca causa la muerte en el 4-10% de todos los hombres y el 8-18% de todas las mujeres.OBJETIVO: Determinar los factores de riesgo que afectan la calidad de vida en pacientes con insuficiencia cardiaca en el Hospital de Especialidades Guayaquil Dr. Abel Gilbert Ponton año 2016. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Estudio de observacional, descriptivo de tipo transversal, en pacientes atendidos en el Hospital de Especialidades Guayaquil Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón y que hayan sido diagnosticados con insuficiencia cardiaca entre el periodo de enero a diciembre del 2016. RESULTADOS: Las variables sociodemográficas relacionadas con dimensión global del Minnesota Living Questionnaire determinado por chi cuadrado obtuve valores estadísticamente significativos en las variables clase funcional de disnea y estancia hospitalaria. CONCLUSIONES: En el Ecuador queda validado el uso del test de Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire porque se obtuve un valor de análisis de fiabilidad del 0,91 siendo un test para valorar correctamente calidad de vida de los pacientes con insuficiencia cardiaca. |
