Abstract

Introduction: The patient's understanding of the disease he suffers and his commitment to follow the treatment are what will help his total recovery, having control and good health management improves the quality of life of the people, the management perception pattern Marjory Gordon's health is a tool that allows us as nurses to assess the knowledge that the patient has about their health / illness and how it is managed in their environment to stay healthy. General objective: To determine the perception and health management of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in a sub-center of the city of Guayaquil. Methods: a cross-sectional study of the total population of patients (22) with pulmonary tuberculosis undergoing treatment in a sub-center of the city of Guayaquil, is a quantitative and qualitative research where multiple-choice questions and observation cards were used. for the collection of information. Results: of those affected with TBP 68% were male, most of whom were over 50 years old with 36%, 64% of the respondents said they had completed their studies until the second level, they have an appreciation of regular health 45%, 59% have a low self-esteem and 64% reported not having good support from their families and / or society, 68% reported having an unhealthy lifestyle, 45% They do not have bad habits. Conclusions: those affected with TBP who participated in this investigation if they have an alteration in the perception of health management, some of them with knowledge and prevention of TB, others with self-esteem problems and therefore tend to be less careful in his health and in correctly following the treatment, which leads to a negative influence on his quick improvement.
