Abstract

In this work, the case of a 40 year old woman was analyzed, on which concepts of psychoanalytic theory were based, and another perspective of seeing hysteria in women was revealed. The objective of this work was to understand through the different events what will happen if the castration fa ils which is what will allow the person to do with the fault and if the failure occurs as it would influence the identification with an ideal. Therefore, it would be important to take into account certain aspects that are very relevant when analyzing the case and are: family history, family dynamics, the social relationship, the choice of partner, in itself the relationship with the Other. From the aforementioned, it will be possible to understand the analysis that was carried out in the case entitled ‘‘I gave it my all, what do you want from me’’. The woman who starred in this story, is a person who tried to please the Other, that way she would have the idea that it will be accepted by the Other, but, later on, it is understood that she did not want to be close to the ‘‘man of enjoyment’’, she wanted to keep the desire unsatisfied. Therefore, due to the family dynamics and certain characteristics that frame the subjective position of the woman, which is the identification, the Other, the desire, the question, the enjoyment, the complaint and the not-everything; it could be said that she has a neurotic structure with hysterical modality.
