Abstract

The present work consists of the project of the Municipal Library and Court, requested by the Municipality of is Durán, due to the lack of such equipment and the need for a space that houses the collection of books and historical documents held by the them. The area for the development of the project is known as the Ferroviaria, which is currently unused, so a library will make it possible to unify the sporting activity with the cultural one, giving a particular parameter to urban design, linking the activity recreational with the cultural activity that the library owns. The architectural proposal is conceived as a single building of a plant that develops from a central gallery that connects the 2 main areas that are: library area and administrative area. The design process contemplates the analysis of the immediate context, identifying the conditions and the activities that are generated in the site, for the architectural and urban development of the project, allowing the use of lighting and natural ventilation. Regarding the function, the user's diversity and activities are considered fundamentally. The Municipal Library of the Guayaquil Canton is taken as reference and it is prioritized to achieve clear routes and adequate spaces to meet the needs of the place.
