Abstract

The need for a cultural space in Duran, that incorporate both educational and recreational activi-ties, entails the approach to the recovery of an underutilized esplanade that is located in La Ferro-viaria citadel, where several problems appeared and cause trouble to the nearest residents. As a result, the idea of the planning and design of the Park - Library project emerged, whose purpose is to implement a cultural, educational and sports - recreational meeting point, where residents and visitors can seek refuge there for resting, learning, play, as well as promoting several activi-ties that are typically carried out in the existing public space and finally turning into an attractive landmark for the city. From the contextual and social analysis, some strategic points are determi-ned that serve as a basis for the development of the project in relation to the existing public space and its surroundings. Taking advantage of the visuals and generating a free path through the project. Also this project try to solve the main social and confort problems that affect many people that live near the area.
