Abstract

In this document, an architectural proposal of the Library Park for the city of Durán is proposed. The idea of it arises with the need for a new public space such as a plaza that integrates recreational areas for adults and a library that encourages the study and research that incorporates new technologies and inserted in an environment that has been treated to promote and protect the cultural - educational environment of this future public building and that becomes a cultural icon in the canton therefore reinvents itself in this outdoor sports sector to transform into a multifunctional place that responds in a way to the needs of the community both in leisure and in the cultural aspect. We will incorporate: open -air events such as exhibitions, multisensory and recreational areas and festivals, this will boost the culture of reading and enhance the use of public space with a square, linking the building with the community with entertainment activities, leisure and the training. This will directly influence the self -esteem of the population as well as the image of the Durán canton in which there are no cultural, green spaces like the one proposed.
