Composición de un álbum EP conceptual.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to sustain the composition of a conceptual EP album with the integration of harmonic and orchestral elements of contemporary music. This album is made up of four songs, which reflect a narrative concept with compositional characteristics of two representative conceptual albums of the 70s. A methodology with a qualitative approach and descriptive and experimental progress was used. The data collection instruments were the following: analysis of the results of thesis related to composition of conceptual albums, analysis of books of contemporary harmony, biographical and bibliographic information obtained from digital music magazines, analysis of audio recordings of the researched albums, analysis of video recordings of two experts in composition and transcriptions of the investigated albums. The investigation allowed the identification of several elements of composition of the investigated albums that when integrating them with the harmonic and orchestral elements of contemporary music, they served for the composition and musical arrangement of the songs "Obertura", "Por el honor y el amor", "Paz: La máquina de guerra" and "Hogar, dulce hogar ". At the end of the research and composition process it was demonstrated that the correlation between the narrative and the music created was possible thanks to the use of modal scales, which favored the sonority sought by researchers for the production of the album "Sanguis et Gloria".
