Résumé: Introduction: Cone-beam tomography it is a very important diagnostic tool for the different specialists involved in the evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of various pathologies in the oral cavity. Objective: The objective of this research project is to know the anatomy of the inferior dental canal path, so that when planning different surgical approaches it is possible to prevent injury to the inferior dental nerve. Methods: A descriptive and retrospective observational study was performed, analyzing the TCCB of 90 hemiarchies of 90 patients 46 of the quadrant 4 and 44 of the quadrant 3, 49 women and 41 men with an age range of 18 to 50 years, the analyzed pieces were the first and second mandibular molars with their respective inclusion criteria. Results: The average distance of the inferior dental canal in general to the alveolar crest was 15.82mm in women and 17.47mm in men, towards the vestibular table the general average was 5.03mm in women and in men of 5.24mm; towards the lingual table of 2.98mm in women and men of 2.82mm; the average dental canal inferior to the basal edge was 8.67mm in women and 8.34mm in men; the location of the inferior dental canal had a high incidence in relation to the lingual table and the shape of the inferior dental canal was circular and oval in both genders, with the piriform canal being the least found in both genders of the total sample. Conclusion: The results of this study revealed that there is a higher incidence without gender variation on the location of the inferior dental canal with direction towards the lingual table, the study did not present significant differences in terms of age, gender and hemiarchies of the patients evaluated.
