Plan de desarrollo turístico para el Puerto Villamil de la Isla Isabela, en la provincia de Galápagos.

Abstract

The Tourism Development Plan for the Puerto Villamil of Isabela Island in the Province of Galapagos is of great importance to promote the tourist sites that the canton possesses and, which until this date have not been adequately exploited, so another benefit is the unification of all the actors that make up the tourism sector, in such a way that the activities to be carried out focus on the development and growth of tourists arriving in Puerto Villamil, with which the inhabitants will be able to obtain greater economic income that will allow improving their quality of life. The work carried out in the development of this plan is based on the information collected through the survey carried out on tourists, as well as on the observation technique, with these data it was possible to identify the expectations of tourists who wish to meet once they visit the canton. On the other hand, it was possible to know what the needs and shortcomings of each of the tourist sites in Puerto Villamil are, which allows a clearer focus of the key points to be improved. Once the information was collected, it was possible to determine that the Tourism Development Plan is necessary and viable with the active participation of the stakeholders that make up the tourism sector of the canton, such as the Ministry of Tourism, Galapagos National Park, Consejo de Gobierno de Galapagos, GAD Municipal Isabela Island, as well as the private sector as hotel, food and especially the inhabitants of the canton. The execution of the plan is focused on the development of four phases, which allow covering all the needs currently present in the tourism sector of the Puerto Villamil canton.
