Percepciones sobre el consumo de marihuana en alumnos de bachillerato de un colegio de la ciudad de Guayaquil, de junio a agosto del 2018.

Abstract

In the country, the highest consumption among young people is registered in alcohol and marijuana, which is why it is considered a public health problem. The present study has a quantitative, descriptive, transversal approach. Objective: To analyze the perception of marijuana consumption among high school students of a fiscal school in the city, from June to August 2018. Materials and methods. 112 students participated, whose random sample was taken from the records of the educational unit, to whom a questionnaire of 11 questions was applied. Results The study reveals that 28% of the students interviewed consider that marijuana as a very dangerous substance, 30% perceive that one of the motivational factors for consuming marijuana is for doing something forbidden, 20% consider that its consumption has serious effects on health and 22% state that regular cannabis use is associated with attention problems. 52% of participants are male and 49% female. Conclusions: The perception that students have about the regular consumption of marijuana is that it causes serious effects on health associated with problems of attention and motivation.
