Abstract

Schizophrenia can drastically change the life of the person who suffers it, so reform the dynamics of individuals close to it. The relationship between family members is affected by the symptoms suffered by a person diagnosed with schizophrenia, which is why it is important that the relatives or caregivers of the person with a disorder have information about the disease, its treatment and access to them. Health services. The present proposal of Family Social Intervention has been based on a family with a schizophrenic adolescent who is in treatment at the Institute of Neurosciences. Faced with this situation, relations between family members have been affected. In order to obtain the information, diagnostic instruments were applied, such as interviewing the parents, elaboration of a genogram, map of networks, etc. The information in this case was analyzed and through the systemic theory, so the design of a Family Social Intervention Plan was proposed to help restore the balance of the family, favoring the coexistence of all. In the proposal of family social intervention, it is necessary to contribute to the functional recovery of the family system, strengthening the dynamics of the family; through the channel of communication using strategies that involve the family to face the problems, defining the roles and functions of its members, as well as strengthening the knowledge of the disease, since the family is considered the main axis in the treatment of a chronic disease.
