| Abstract: | The main objective of this article is to present a panoramic vision of the Ecuadorian penitentiary system in general, exposing its main characteristics, its strengths, deficiencies and the challenges of a complex, changing and closed structure, which in many cases has remained stagnant under anachronistic policies. due to the lack of technical, technological and economic resources that have prevented it and still prevent it from fulfilling its true mission. |
| Description: | El presente artículo tiene como objetivo principal presentar una visión panorámica de sistema penitenciario ecuatoriano en general, exponiendo sus principales características, sus fortalezas, deficiencias y los retos propios de una estructura compleja, cambiante y cerrada, que en muchos casos ha permanecido anquilosada bajo políticas anacrónicas, debido a la falta de recursos técnicos, tecnológicos y económicos que le han impedido y aún le impiden cumplir su verdadera misión. |
