The documentary about "The loss of the tradition of artisanal fishing in the Guayas river", it narrates about the experiences of a fisherman, Don Pablo Salavarría, the current situation of artisanal fishing in the torrent of the Gulf of Guayas, because today there are people who don’t know that this type of activity is done in the Guayas river, which for many years has been one of the fundamental pillars of the families that live on the edges of the river in the Duran Canton. For that reason, Don Pablo Salavarría, a professional fisherman for more than 40 years, will tell us about the fishing process, the difficulties lived each time the working day is over, the economic value paid for their work, the reasons for the loss of this tradition in the new generation and the most important question, what they do when there isn’t enough money for day to day; The purpose of this audiovisual project is that people know and value this craft profession, which is part of the economic development in the province of Guayas, but above all, to protect river products and not lose tradition in the next generations.
