Abstract

The object of the present titration work is to carry out a study and analysis on labor relations within the sea, which for so many years have been abandoned by our Ecuadorian regulations, resigning them to the application of the same norms as those that regulate continental work. To do this, we will begin by analyzing the characteristics and peculiarities of maritime labor law, identifying the differentiating circumstances of this relationship with the ordinary labor relationship. Later we will study the most important international regulations on maritime work, finding the Convention on Maritime Labor (2006) issued by the International Labor Organization. Finally, we will analyze the little maritime labor regulations that our legal system grants us, studying Ministerial Agreement 82 of the Ministry of Labor, which regulates relations within navigable cruises in Galapagos; and the Resolution of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, No. SPTMF 041/13, which regulates the requirements that workers must have to work within ships.
