Cumplimiento del lavado de manos por el personal de enfermería en el área de Hospitalización de Cirugía 1 en un hospital del sur de la ciudad.

Abstract

The hand hygiene is a very simple action, which is the main universal measure in the prevention of Infections Associated with Health Care (IAAS), however, worldwide it has been documented that health personnel have a Limited Compliance and adherence to it. That is why I have decided to carry out the following work whose objective is to describe the compliance of the hands by the nursing staff in the area of hospitalization surgery in the south of the city. The methodology: Type of study: descriptive, quantitative, prospective January 2019 and cross-sectional, applying the WHO direct observation guide through a checklist, attached with a survey of people by the quality control personnel of the hospital to observe compliance with the hand washing of health personnel. In the WHO guide on hand hygiene in health care, it is stated that "infection is related to health care". The results obtained were that most of the staff are licensed nurses, who work in the morning shift. It was obtained that the moments of highest compliance of the hand washing most applied by the nursing staff was the fifth moment with 100%, the first moment with 90%, followed by the third moment with 70%, followed by the fourth moment with 55% and the second moment with 35%, and finally among the elements most used for the hygiene of hand washing was water and soap.
