Propuesta de mejora de gestión de inventarios de la empresa “Macrofer S.A".

Abstract

The present work has as general objective to propose a system to improve the management of inventories of the company Macrofer S.A. The work has been divided into four specific objectives. In the first objective, the current situation of the company was analyzed through business diagnostic matrices and the calculation of financial ratios, for which we learnt that the company must solve several internal problems and that it manages its operations with external financing. The second objective was to analyze the current inventory planning, control and storage processes through the internal control theory COSO, the Ishikawa diagram and a flowchart of requirements to the storage, as a result there was no order in the warehouses, which the company does not have established policies for inventory control and that the entry of merchandise into the warehouse is done correctly. After analyzing the current situation of the company, we proceeded to design the system for the improvement of the inventory management, for which we used the Pareto diagram, the optimal order quantity model, the safety stock and the reorder point. As a result, we obtained the correct placement for inventory in the warehouse, how many units to include per order and when to make one. The final objective detailed the costs and benefits generated by the proposal to measure the viability of this, resulting in that even in a pessimistic case the proposal is viable.
