Abstract

The Duran Public Library integrates reading and recreation activities. It’s main purpose is to promote the habit of reading and self-learning as a requirement of the Municipality of Duran. It has double height and comfortable spaces for reading that are linked to other areas of services through elevated bridges. Revenues were made in axes from north to south and from east to west located in the four roads that surround the property thus getting the influence of use. Implementing the bus stop in Av. Virgin allows to have an area of discharge for the commercial zone in which public transport circulates and it also harbors to heavier transit. The parking lot is located in the streets with lower vehicular density. For sports practice a sports court was designed. It is situated in the land to the southwest. This sports court will be used for football, basketball and volleyball training activities. The proposed Library creates dynamic spaces in which social, cultural, political, and academic activities will be able to take place. These type of activities will contribute to the improvement of the city and of the residential sector La Ferroviaria.
