El femicidio como delito con componente de género en la evolución histórica de la legislación ecuatoriana.

Abstract

The main objective of this investigation is to analyze femicide as a crime with a gender component in the historical evolution of the Ecuadorian Legislation. The Organic Integral Criminal Code enshrines the crime of femicide as a criminal type with a gender component in Ecuador. The consecration of this crime is the result of a series of variables that have led to a historical evolution of all branches of the law towards the consecration of this type of norms that promote the equality and non-discrimination of women within society. This is a documentary investigation that specifies the review of different sources and other doctrinal and legal documents referred to the subject of study. It could be evidenced that the consecration of this criminal type is the result of an effort to develop legal norms for the benefit of gnder equality in that legislation.
