Determinantes del desarrollo económico del sector atunero y su incidencia en la ciudad de manta periodo 2000-2018.

Abstract

The tuna sector represents an important ruble within the economic development of the city of Manta, so this study focuses its attention on the determinants that influence this sector and thus see the development of it and what its incidence is. Establishing as main objective to analyze the incidence of the tuna industry in the economic development of the city of Manta in the period 2000-2018 to evaluate the efficiency of this business sector. The present research is of an explanatory correlational type with a mixed approach, that is, qualitative and quantitative. In which the financial statements of ten most important companies in the city of Manta have been analyzed, considering the indicators, Income, Costs and Expenses, represented by the determinants Product quality in cost, International competitiveness and Environmental policy in Revenue and the Basic Basket, which corresponds to economic development, where Income and Costs have a higher incidence of the Basic Basket of the city of Manta. Based on these results, the work provides recommendations of the subsector studied for future research.
