Factores asociados al cambio de prótesis removibles en pacientes atendidos en clínica UCSG semestre B-2019.

Abstract

Introduction: The use of removable prostheses allows rehabilitating patients with edentulism (partial or total).For this, the design and the correct elaboration of prostheses, allows the patients who present this condition, to recover the masticatory function, contributing in addition, to the harmony of the stomatognathic system and to provide a better quality of life. Objective: To determine the factors associated with the change of removable protheses in patients treated in the UCSG clinic semester B-2019. Materials and methods: The present cross-sectional study included 111 patients with removable protheses, aged 40 to 70, who went to the dental clinic of the UCSG and consented in writing to their inclusion in the present work, during the semester B- 2019. Results: The study showed that 91.89% of patients have a low level of satisfaction in function and aesthetics of their current prostheses; 8.11% of patients have a medium level and 0% of patients have a high level. Discuss: One of the stomatognathic system healthy. In oral rehabilitation, one of the most appropriate alternatives to partial or total edentulous patients is the design and preparation of removable prostheses with the sole objective of returning the function and aesthetic that have been lost in this type of patients. Conclusion: It was found that most of the population studied have a low level in function and aesthetics of the protheses currently used.
