Abstract

The constant study of the genome includes the complete analysis of DNA, from which we can determine an exhaustive examination of the genetic variants. In this way, the scientific communities will have a greater development within the research of the microbiology area through the sequence of genes of interest, such as bacteria, fungi and viruses. The project on the implementation of a next-generation NGS laboratory provides the researcher with a greater scope on the study and understanding of the genetic coding of living beings about the service of the sample process in a shorter time. This study analyzes the demand for this type of service through various determinants as well as to studying the economic and financial feasibility through market research. Research tools were used, applying a descriptive methodology with a qualitative approach, using interviews to collect information and a financial evaluation through initial investment, sales projections, costs and cash flows, which establish that the NGS Laboratory is a viable business opportunity, as it offers profitability and provides a greater potential to generate the knowledge about laboratories, hospitals, universities, public and private institutions.
