Abstract

In the work shown below, an architectural project is proposed to house, as a function, a Museum of the history of the city of Guayaquil, in the province of Guayas. The main objective of the project is to generate an architectural milestone that encourages users to visit the project. For this, the respective analysis of conditions of the land, user, regulations were carried out and from that an architectural project is offered that responds to grant an architectural solution to each of the conditions found, obtaining a project with specific characteristics that responds to the needs of potential users. The project is formally developed in a permeable way, to allow a relationship to occur between the interior and exterior areas and, in this way, promote the interest of users to visit the project. In addition, a large cantilever is generated that acts as an imposing element and in its lower part provides spaces where exhibitions can be held in the open air, but protected from the excessive radiation present in the city. In this way, the possibility of generating cultural exhibitions with great freedom and flexibility is opened, making the project display dynamism in the exhibitions that are to be developed, to further encourage visits to the project, since it can offer a great cultural variety. It is worth mentioning that, in addition, the project seeks to maintain a direct relationship with the Guayas River, a natural reference point for Guayaquil residents, which is why the spatial composition is presented in such a way as to allow an opening towards it, proposing it as a guiding element in the formal design of the project.
