Abstract

This project presents the design of a Museum of the city of Guayaquil, located in the La Atarazana neighborhood at the foot of the River Guayas, in the Ciudad del Río sector. The proposal consists of recovering the history, the landscape and the Guayaquil identity, through the design of a museum that adapts to the site conditions and takes advantage of them. In addition, to satisfy the needs of future visitors, generating a sustainable and accessible design for all. The project is developed based on analysis and research, solving the problems of the site, as well as giving added value to the required project. The dynamics of the River Guayas, the experience of the visitors and the analysis of the site were key for decision-making on the morphology and function of the building. The museum has a design of public spaces that contains a multipurpose plaza, recreation areas, multipurpose parking and contemplation areas. On the ground floor of the museum there is a large integrating hall, shop, library, auditorium and cafeteria, administration and service areas - logistics. In the first level exhibitions of history, in the second level archeology, arts and author. On the third level arts and author mezzanines. All the main routes converge towards the large integrating hall promoting the sensory experience of the visitors.
