Creación de dos temas inéditos aplicando los recursos armónicos y orquestales utilizados por el compositor Brian Wilson en los temas “God only knows” y “Good vibrations”.

Abstract

The following research seeks to determine the harmonic and orchestral resources used by the composer Brian Wilson in the songs "God Only knows" and "Good Vibrations" through a musical theoretical analysis; deconstructing and learning from the structure and techniques used in each of the subjects to be able to create two compositions applying the resources to be studied. The development of this degree work was based on several stages: through research in bibliographic sources (books, articles, essays, interviews) related to Brian Wilson's musical work, it was possible to determine the sound characteristics of the songs before mentioned and the context of why these techniques have been chosen by the author; strictly using the deductive scientific method, to carry out a study of each one of the resources through transcriptions and analysis of scores, and on the other hand, the features that must be considered for the use of the techniques extracted in the elaboration of two works , starting from his conception as an arranger and composer. The projection of the following research is to serve as a study material, analysis or guide for Ecuadorian musicians who want to experiment, explore or implement composition techniques and arrangements that work under certain theoretical guidelines, thus inviting the application of these resources for the development of more local works and arrangements, regardless of the genre or style in which it wants to be used.
