Estereotipos de género en la telecomedia ecuatoriana. Análisis comparativo de tres series emitidas entre 1989-2014.

Abstract

Throughout twenty-five years, Ecuadorian television fiction has had many proposals, especially in the genre of comedy, the same one that has been maintained since its inception. Countless titles have passed through television grids, some memorable, others forgotten. But stereotypes, clichés and ways of making humor have been maintained, not always healthy for society. This degree work will be based on the comparative analysis of the audiovisual content of three Ecuadorian sitcoms during 1989 - 2014: Mis adorables entenados de Ecuavisa (1989), Solteros sin compromiso by TC Televisión (2001) and La Pareja Feliz de Teleamazonas (2014). Although they were issued during the declared period, some are broadcast up to the present time. The main objective of this research will be to analyze the content of the three sitcoms, in order to demonstrate and verify the presence of gender stereotypes in national production and their evolution, in a quarter of a century. By means of the Audiovisual Content Analysis technique of ten chapters of each sitcom, its narrative, audiovisual, dramatic resources, as well as social constructions and the presence of stereotypes, especially those of gender. Findings to be confronted by means of the in-depth interview technique carried out with experts and two discussion groups carried out with students of the film career and with scriptwriters and creators of sitcoms.
