Uso de matriz dérmica acelular para recesiones gingivales. Revisión sistemática.

Abstract

Introduction: Acellular dermal matrix (ADM) is an allograft whose function is to serve as a substitute for gum tissue and is used for gingival augmentation procedures. It is recommended to increase the area of keratinized tissue and eliminate gingival recessions; especially when large grafts or multiple pieces are required. Objective: To determine the efficacy of the use of acellular dermal matrix as a treatment for gingival recessions. Materials and methods: 420 articles were obtained, which by means of inclusion and exclusion criteria were limited to obtaining 150 articles. Having as a final result the obtaining of 30 scientific articles in English and Spanish for the elaboration of this work of systematic review. Results: 18 articles were chosen for the elaboration of these, representing them in statistical graphs; analyzing the variables: type of gingival recession, keratinized gingiva gain, gain in the level of clinical insertion, post-operative follow-up and percentage of root coverage. Conclusion: We can affirm that acellular dermal matrix has proven to be effective more than anything for Miller type I and II gingival defects.
