Impacto financiero de la Pandemia COVID 19 en la industria hotelera de la ciudad de Guayaquil.

Abstract

Through the following research work, the situation of the problem currently faced by the hotel industry and tourism due to the health emergency in Ecuador caused by COVID-19 was determined. Therefore, a financial analysis was studied and carried out on this market, historically analyzing the results obtained annually in each of the companies that make up the hotel market in the city of Guayaquil. All the financial information of the existing hotels in the city of Guayaquil was classified by their size in order to create an analysis that led to a forecast to be able to evaluate the financial impact obtained by the economic paralysis in all this time of pandemic, by the restrictions and cares that have had to be implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections. At the same time, the disadvantages that hotel companies have faced in each sector were determined, since the reality by sector has been different and the measures and strategies that they have had to implement during all this time were evaluated to be able to stay in the face of a competitive market and currently considered unstable. Finally, a reactivation plan is proposed so that the hotel market can reestablish existing losses and implement better strategies in the face of abrupt changes in the hotel and tourism industry, respecting government restrictions for caring for the citizenship.
