Abstract

Hypoglycemia is the most common complication in the diabetes treatment process and the main restriction for optimizing glycemic monitoring. It is specified as an abnormally low blood glucose figure, which exposes the patient to harm (with or without symptoms). In patients with diabetes and at risk of hypoglycemia, a blood glucose level below 70 mg / dl is an alert. Diabetic patients develop a concern about hypoglycemia that can have a negative impact on the management and evolution of the disease, limiting the effectiveness of hypoglycemic treatments, affecting adherence to treatment, and reducing their work productivity and autonomy. It can be concluded that the frequency of occurrence of hypoglycemia in diabetic patients is high in the population that comes to be treated at the Basic Hospital of Duran during the period December 2018 to June 2020 since it was seen that 71.93% of lipothymia cases attended with blood glucose levels below 70 mg / dl. The objective of this research is to estimate the prevalence and define the characteristics of those diabetic patients who come to Duran with neuroglycopenic symptoms.
