Impresiones digitales intraorales. Revisión sistemática.

Abstract

In dentistry, different intraoral scanners (IOS) are used for taking impressions. The trend of increasing IOS systems in dental practice has caused three-dimensional technology to continue to develop, thus evaluating the precision, truthfulness and accuracy of intraoral fingerprints. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different variables on the accuracy of the different IOS. Materials and methods: The present study includes a descriptive and crosssectional analysis. A search was carried out in different platforms such as: PubMed, Medline, Science direct and Cochrane, obtaining a total of 420 articles. After a selection, 220 were excluded because they did not meet the inclusion criteria, a sample of 95 articles was used; only a total of 30 articles were included for analysis. Result: The different variables analyzed gave as results that the TRIOS intraoral scanner is the best in terms of veracity, precision and accuracy compared to the different IOS intraoral scanner systems. It is also one of the most used. In addition, in vitro type studies were found to be the most common. Conclusion: The TRIOS intraoral scanner is the best and most widely used, although the accuracy, veracity and precision of the different IOS intraoral scanner systems appear to be better and comparable when compared to conventional impression methods, they remain fragile to the margins of error.
