Abstract

Ecuador requires new economic alternatives that provide job opportunities and foreign exchange earnings that sustain the monetary regime of dollarization. Think of the hemp, or industrial hemp, of the Cannabis plant has several uses in strong markets such as China, since the flower, the stem, the leaves and the seeds are used. A market that offers expectations to deploy new ideas, as long as an entry and commercialization strategy is structured. The country's export experience has forged work and dynamics thanks to the quality of the products benefited by fertile lands. The investigated objective of establishing the feasibility of exporting industrialized hemp to the Chinese market focuses on the question of its viability; To do this, it was sought to investigate the information through interviews with experts and to contrast the data obtained in official information. The main result is that, under market conditions and with national resources, it is profitable, although, for the study, only a low percentage of market potential was taken. The scenarios strategically order the prospective possible technical feasibility to ensure the creation of value. Its operational viability occurs within a highly competitive market with prices that tend to stabilize in the variety of consumption; allowing to expect an IRR of 27.98% with a NPV of 14 million over 5 years with a 2-year recovery: consequently, viable.
