Exploración de los recursos audiovisuales fundamentales en el género de horror a través del cortometraje “Evil”.

Abstract

“Evil” it’s a short film that made through the exploration of the fundamental audio-visual techniques of horror. This short film belongs to the psychological horror subgenre and the main plot is about the mental decay of the protagonist who started to have nightmares when he saw the cursed disk. The use of this resources has the purpose of learning what are the audio-visual techniques that define the horror genre and using these in a short film to experiment what are the effects they have on the viewer. The short film explores the different roles of the film language like the photography with the use of framing with negative space, the sound department with the use of infrasound and sound effects, the editing with the colorization that highlights the shadows, the script and how all these have been used since the beginnings of the horror genre until its evolution and their contribution to the current film industry.
