Abstract

Alcohol has been a socio-economic problem that affects the health field; worldwide, its consumption remains present, even with total or partial knowledge of its negative factors. Methods: This work has a descriptive, observational, prospective, prevalence or cross-sectional research level, based on the totality of patients between 20 and 64 years old assigned to the Family and Community Medicine Doctor’s office N° 4 of the Sauces 3 health center. Sociodemographic data and patient history were obtained, and the AUDIT test (Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test) was used in the population that is identified as a consumer. Results: The sex that predominated in the population was female, with 174 women and the dominant general age group was between 20 - 24 years with 13.4%, 94% belonged to the mestizo ethnic group, 35.1% had married marital status, 44.9% have university education, 30.1% are self-employed, 86% of the population consumes alcoholic beverages, with a higher prevalence in males with 88.3%. Conclusions: The mixed race, married marital status, university schooling, and self-employment predominated. Most of the studied population consumes alcohol, predominantly in the female sex.
