Caracterización del servicio de cuidado del adulto mayor en un hogar público de la ciudad de Guayaquil, en el año 2022.

Abstract

This study has the purpose of publicizing the care service for the elderly applied in the Hogar Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, it is important to focus that the AM, most of the time are dependent individuals who need constant attention and care due to illnesses. caused by age, such as chronic diseases, cognitive alterations, lack of material support, among others, for which they cannot take care of themselves, leading them to seek institutionalization either on their own or by relatives who looking for this service. In such a way that, the problem of this study is directed to investigate the context of the care service and evaluate the attention of care by professionals in the health environment and identify if the process carried out in the institution is managed in an integral way focused on the individual needs of the AM. For the methodology of this study, cross-sectional research was applied with a descriptive method, in addition to this the interview technique was used to learn about and inquire about the proposed topic, this research is relevant since it will carry out a review of the care provided by the institution. At the same time, it requires evaluating the rights for the benefit of the AM, which relates the care service where it is important to carry out joint work and hand in hand with specialists, and address the requirements that arise to avoid any problems in the elderly.
