Abstract

Located in a natural context, on the route of the Spondylus near the commune of Olón, the Forest School project seeks to create an environment where research, teaching, respect for nature, culture and identity and the practice of agriculture meet and combine with each other. Immersed in the forest, it aims to generate a new type of creative and sensory experience where both students and visitors interact with nature and in turn with the community. Inspired by the conformation of the commune, the new constructions merge with its natural environment with the intention of going unnoticed and maintaining the visual landscape of the forest. Therefore, to minimize its impact on the landscape, the program is fragmented into 13 platforms containing essential modules of a school; raised 60 cm from the ground embracing the existing vegetation. Thus, creating small spaces of natural vegetation within the platform and distributed in the proposal reminiscent of a village. Highlighting a central axis of small modules in their zoning, focused on projecting and expressing the history of Olón. The use of local materials, complemented by construction technologies, takes advantage of the natural elements of their context, which contributes to integrating the project into its site. In addition to the "Spots", spaces designed for activities, are created with the aim of promoting a direct coexistence between user and nature. This project takes advantage of natural resources from the foliage of existing trees to the semi-hermetic dust jacket allowing to create a play of light and shade that allows the user to develop their sensory skills.
