Determinantes del déficit presupuestario en el Ecuador. Período 2000-2020.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the determinants of the budget deficit in Ecuador. Period 2000-2020. Using a methodology, quantitative, based on a nonexperimental design, with a descriptive and correlational scope, to analyze the budget outcome in the country, and thus provide empirical findings that can serve as a basis for the formulation of fiscal policies to help improve the outcome of the General State Budget. The literature review is developed based on theories on fiscal policy and the General State Budget. As a primary conclusion, it is established that fiscal policy plays an important role in the budget outcome, especially because of the fiscal instruments used and their effectiveness. It should be noted that the independent variables were selected based on the literature review of other research in other contexts similar to the research topic.
