Abstract

The document presented below contains the development of the proposed architectural reception center for retirees where its main objective is to provide a shelter for older people residing in the province of El Oro responds to the basic needs of its immediate environment and its potential user. The factors identified through the investigation and field visit were assessed through a thorough analysis of the data collected and have been reflected in this document. In the following pages we will see the development of the project at the level of analysis, synthesis and processing of information that is transformed into architectural plans and 3D images that will help to have a more complete vision of how the activities are developed within the host center. The main needs assessed in the environment are classified at the social, urban and environmental levels. These needs are then transformed into strategies at the formal, architectural and spatial level, which allow the development of a project suitable for the needs to which they have been destined; functional strategies at the programme level, environmental strategies that respond to the level of energy consumption, savings and respect for the environment and structural strategies that allow to keep the project standing. In addition, the project aims to become a refuge for the elderly and provide security, comfort and relaxation in addition to stimulation through workshops of artistic, motor, body and thus cover the need for a shelter for older adults.
