Abstract

The project is located in the city of Machala, province of El Oro, which consists of building a space that improves the quality of life of the elderly, providing protection, physical and cognitive development that deserves. The architectural intervention proposal is given on a plot of 4350m2 located at the entrance of the city between Avenida 25 de junio and Babahoyo. The project is based on a Corridor of the Day concept, which aims to create a transitional space for retirees, while also being a transition corridor for identified users of the sector. Respecting the existing vegetation, the project was implemented in such a way that the areas of general public access are on the side closest to the main avenues, leaving the spaces of greater privacy in the center of the land, for use by retirees, creating barriers to protecting external factors, but without losing the connection with the immediate environment. In this way a central corridor is marked, which through internal squares are connected with the different blocks, without subtracting privacy from each space.
