Abstract

This document aims to present the design of a "Reception Center for Retirees" in the city Bicentenary of Machala, - proposal arising from the high demand for retirees in the city and that these users do not have spaces for recreation and learning for this new stage. The main objective of the project is to design a building that has spaces suitable for the development of physical, social and cognitive activities of retirees, thus improving their quality of life. As an initial phase, a study of the user and the physical and climatic conditioning site of the site is proposed to conclude with a synthesis of conditioning factors that will condition the design of the project, followed by a typological design that helps me analyze and understand specific characteristics of it to be applied later. After the entire research part, the project offers -a solution to the problem by managing to be a space that promotes active participation and connection with the outside, existing trees. Thus a large pergola is created that serves with main and secondary circulation, then 6 volumes are extruded at different heights depending on the function of the program and as final are configured a series of courtyards with vegetation that allow me to have more pleasant visuals and on the other hand better thermal comfort inside the building.
